About datasets

A dataset is a any range of worksheet cells containing the data to be analysed. Defining a dataset tells Analyse-it how the data is arranged, which cells contain the names of variables and groups and which cells contain the data to analyse. The most easily recognisable and flexible dataset layout is the List dataset and it is the only dataset layout you need to understand, especially if you are new to Analyse-it or statistical analysis.

When working with new data we recommend using New Dataset to create a new worksheet ready for data entry and analysis, thereby avoiding the complexities of dealing with dataset layouts.

ADVANCED
Advanced users may want to use the following dataset layouts, which can be easier to read in some cases.

List dataset with repeat measures
