Running a statistical test

Analyse-it includes a wide range of statistical tests suitable for all kinds of statistical research. The Analyse-it tab/toolbar lists the available tests, depending on which product you purchased, logically grouped by purpose.

Excel 2007:
The Standard group on the Analyse-it tab (see below) contains tests included in all versions of Analyse-it. Those in the Method Evaluation group are included in the Analyse-it Method Evaluation package.

Excel 97, 2000, 2002 & 2003:
The Analyse drop down menu on the Analyse-it toolbar lists the tests available (see below). All versions of Analyse-it include the tests on Describe, Compare Groups, Compare Pairs, Correlation, Regression and Agreement. Additional tests are included in the Analyse-it Method Evaluation package.

To run a statistical test:

  1. Select a cell in the range containing the dataset to use.
  2. Excel 2007:
    Click the category of test to run on the Analyse-it tab, then select the specific test from the drop-down menu.

    Excel 97, 2000, 2002, 2003:
    Click Analyse on the Analyse-it toolbar, then select the specific test from the drop-down menu.

  3. Analyse-it shows a dialog box specific to the test, allowing variables and options to be set for the test.
  4. Click ? button, in the dialog box title bar, for more information about the statistical test. The help for the test explains the purpose of the test, common uses of the test, and how to interpret the results.
  5. Click OK to run the test.
