A common abbreviation for probability, expressing the certainty of an event as a value between 0 (never) and 1 (always). The probability can also be expressed as a percentage between 0 (never) and 100% (always). A probability closer to 1 (100%) expresses greater certainty of an event.
In statistics a p-value is usually used to express the probability of the null hypothesis, a hypothesis describing no effect/difference/correlation, been rejected when true.
