About macro virus warnings
When Analyse-it starts, if security settings in Microsoft Excel are sufficiently high, the Macro Virus warning will be shown. Such warnings are a standard feature of Microsoft Office to protect users against add-ins that could, potentially, contain malicious code or viruses. To identify legitimate software Microsoft require all software publishers code sign their software to:
- Uniquely and securely identify the publisher of the software so you can decide whether you trust the software publisher and recognise it as an add-in you have chosen to install.
- Assure you the software has not been infected with a virus or tampered with since it was published.
Analyse-it is code signed.
