Probably the best book for non-parametric statistics in our opinion. Very easy to read & understand. Each procedure is fully explained, as are the calculations, with several worked examples.

Probably the definitive book for non-parametric statistics. More advanced and in-depth than the above book, and more suited for the technically minded statistician.
stack3.gif (1201 bytes)Practical Statistics for Medical Research
by Douglas G. Altman
An excellent guide to the practical use of statistics in clinical and medical research. Covers all the statistical basics, including normality, t-tests, then moves onto regression, and survival analysis and bias plots. Highly recommended for non-statisticians.
stack3.gif (1201 bytes)Statistical Methods in Medical Research
by G. Berry and P. Armitage
Another book explaining the use of statistics in clinical & medical research. More in-depth that the D.G.Altman book above, and includes much more mathematical and statistical notation. Good for the more technical aspects of statistics.

by Paul W. Strike
Similar to the above two titles. The book includes chapters on Method Comparison, Precision, Test Interpretation and uses real-world laboratory examples. Ideal for laboratory managers.
